Her Highness Shaikha Zain bint Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of AlMabarrah AlKhalifia Foundation (MKF), was honoured as a leading figure in the field of civil society work across the Gulf. This recognition took place during the opening ceremony of the 12th GCC Council of Ministers of Social Affairs Meeting, hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain.HH was selected based on a nomination by the Ministry of Social Development, in light of her contributions to advancing civil society work, in addition to her efforts in establishing the role of MKF in serving the community through impactful initiatives focused on education, youth empowerment, and capacity building. The ceremony also honoured MKF’s “Ithra” program as a pioneering social initiative implemented by a civil society organisation in the GCC.
