The project demonstrates an approach to handling non-standard mechanical components where precise dimensional requirements, component compatibility, and limited production quantities need to be addressed within a single manufacturing process.The project began in July 2025 after the customer identified damage to an existing shaft and pulley assembly. Because the required components were non-standard parts and were not readily available as standard products in the Chinese market, the replacement parts needed to be manufactured according to the customer's specific requirements.Addressing a Small-Quantity Manufacturing ChallengeThe customer required only 10 sets of components, creating an additional manufacturing challenge. Small-volume orders for fully machined, non-standard mechanical parts can be difficult to place because conventional production processes are often structured around higher production volumes.Matech accepted the small-batch requirement and developed a machining approach based on the customer's existing component information.
