Title: The First Annual Prompty Awards to Celebrate the Best of AI-Assisted Fiction

United States, 3rd Sep 2026 — The Prompty Awards, a new literary competition honoring fiction created with the help of artificial intelligence (AI), officially opened for submissions today. The awards recognize writers who are using AI not as a replacement for creativity, but as a tool for expressing it. The competition is open to established novelists, first-time authors, and everyone in between.The awards recognize fiction across six categories: Literary Fiction, Science Fiction, Mysteries & Thrillers, Speculative Fiction, Romance, and Historical Fiction. Judges will evaluate entries on originality, storytelling, character development, craft, imagination, and the effective use of AI as part of the creative process."The Prompty Awards are not about proving that AI can write fiction. We already know it can," said Hugh Taylor, the awards’ organizer. “The interesting question is what writers can create with it. Great storytelling still requires imagination.
