Title: Benjamin Banneker Association Brings BMTC Denver Cohort to Colorado October 28–31

United States, 21st Aug 2026 — The Benjamin Banneker Association (BBA), a national organization committed to advocating for high-quality mathematics education for Black students, will bring its Benjamin Banneker Mathematics Teaching Collaborative (BMTC) cohort experience to Denver, Colorado, October 28–31, 2026. The Denver cohort will bring together educators for an immersive professional learning experience designed to strengthen mathematics teaching practice while creating space for reflection, collaboration, leadership development, and meaningful conversations about improving educational experiences for Black learners.Through BMTC, BBA seeks to cultivate educators who think deeply about their instructional practices, recognize the impact of identity and classroom culture, and develop as teacher-leaders capable of influencing mathematics education both inside and beyond their individual classrooms. At the heart of the collaborative is the opportunity for educators to reflect, collaborate, strengthen their practice, and build a community committed to creating mathematics classrooms where each and every student—especially Black students—can thrive. BBA believes that investing in educators is an investment in students.
