Los Angeles, CA, United States, 7th May 2026 - The 17th Annual LA WEBFEST 2026 successfully concluded at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre in Hollywood, bringing together a vibrant international community of creators, industry professionals, and audiences to celebrate outstanding achievements in film and digital storytelling.This year’s festival showcased a diverse range of content, including films, web series, podcasts, audio series, and other innovative digital formats, highlighting the evolving landscape of global entertainment.A Legacy of Discovering Breakthrough TalentSince its founding in 2009 by Michael Ajakwe, Jr., LA WEBFEST has established itself as the world’s first international festival dedicated exclusively to web series, inspiring more than 50 web festivals worldwide. The festival has a proven track record of discovering and elevating new talent.Among its most notable success stories is Issa Rae, whose groundbreaking series Awkward Black Girl premiered at LA WEBFEST and paved the way for her acclaimed HBO series Insecure. The festival also played a role in launching the career of actress Yvonne Orji.Since assuming leadership in 2022, Festival Director Young Man Kang has continued to expand LA WEBFEST’s global influence while honoring its pioneering legacy.
