According to industry data, Generac reported record residential product sales of $1.8 billion in Q4 2024, representing a 47% increase over the prior year. Texas now represents 22% of total U.S. residential backup power sales, up from just 9% in 2021 before historic winter storms exposed grid vulnerabilities. The U.S. Energy Information Administration reports that Texas customers experienced an average of 26.3 hours without power in 2024, significantly above the national average of 18.7 hours when major weather events are included.
