Title: Global Natural History Day 2025 Global Finals Kicks Off at Shanghai University
On the afternoon of July 18, the Global Natural History Day® 2025 Global Finals, co-organized by the National Museum of Natural History, the Global Health and Education Foundation, and Shanghai University, officially commenced at the Baoshan Campus Gymnasium of Shanghai University. The event aims to strengthen cultural exchange among youth and foster the development of natural sciences. Attending the opening ceremony were Xue Li, Chairman of the China Association of Natural Science Museums (CANSM); Wan Shilin, Party Secretary of the National Museum of Natural History; Stephen P. Beinke, President of Behring Global Educational Foundation; Shen Anqi, Vice President of Behring Global Educational Foundation; Liu Changsheng, President of Shanghai University and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; and Duan Yong, Deputy Party Secretary of Shanghai University. A total of 640 teams from 14 regions across China and three specially invited areas will participate in a series of activities over five days, competing in five categories: science exhibitions, science performances, science topic presentation, science-themed artwork, and storytelling, in a grand showdown of natural science exploration. During the ceremony, Stephen P. Beinke reflected on the development of Global Natural History Day since its launch in 2012. On behalf of the Global Health and Education Foundation, he expressed gratitude to partners for their contributions to the sustainable development of natural science museums and encouraged participants to fully experience the event’s unique appeal.
