This initiative begins with one powerful truth: asking for help is not weakness—it’s strength.Millions of men in the United States experience mental health challenges each year. Depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mental health conditions are widespread. Yet, less than half of those affected ever receive treatment. The statistics are sobering: men are nearly four times more likely to die by suicide than women. Behind each of these numbers are fathers, brothers, sons, friends—real people whose stories remain untold because of stigma and shame."Too often, men feel they have to tough it out alone,” says Thomas Cliff Cagle, founder of Men’s Health. “But true strength is found in vulnerability, honesty, and the courage to speak up. From childhood, boys are frequently taught to hide their emotions. Crying is often labeled as weakness, and expressing fear or sadness is discouraged.
