As part of these innovative measures, every new single-family home constructed in the area is mandated to include at least one EV-capable parking space, ensuring future-readiness for EV adoption.For multifamily residences, hotels, and motels, Santa Monica has established rigorous standards to promote extensive EV infrastructure:EV Readiness: Half of all parking spaces in these developments must be equipped with Low Power Level 2 Receptacles, making them EV Ready. This approach not only prepares these facilities for current EV needs but also anticipates future growth in EV usage.Installed EV Chargers: To facilitate immediate EV charging capability, 15% of parking spaces will have fully installed EV chargers.
