The majority of international travelers need a transit visa to pass through Canada on their way to their ultimate destination. Transit visas can be single or double entry based on the traveler's itinerary. Citizens from visa-exempt countries are not required to obtain a transit visa, however they must possess an ETA Canada when entering by air.
