CANADA VISA FOR NORWEGIAN CITIZENSAll Norwegians traveling to Canada need to get a visa in advance. Norwegian citizens must obtain a travel permit before they can enter Canada. Since the introduction of the Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) system by the Canadian government in 2016, there has been a significant improvement in the efficiency of the process. Norwegians who plan to stay in Canada for up to 180 days can choose to complete the simple eTA application form online. Norwegian residents must secure a Canada eTA visa for vacations, employment, layovers, or short medical treatment stays (less than 90 days). Possessing a valid Norwegian electronic travel authorization (eTA) permits multiple visits to Canada with a duration of up to six months per stay. The Canadian electronic permit is automatically associated with the traveler's passport once it has been issued. A Canadian eTA is valid for five years or until the expiration of the associated passport, whichever comes first. It is now possible to obtain a Canada eVisa waiver from Norway exclusively online via the simple eTA application, eliminating the need to visit a Canadian Embassy or Consulate to apply for a travel authorization in person.
